NavCert awards class C2 license for commercial drones from senseFly for the first time

NavCert GmbH and senseFly, an AgEagle company announce that eBee X, eBee Geo and eBee Ag are the first commercial drones to be designated with the C2 class identification label in accordance with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations.

Experts from the international acknowledged and accredited certification and testing service provider tested the eBee X Series systems from manufacturer senseFly for compliance with the drone class C2 requirements of the regulation (EU) 2019/945. The scope of the EU type examination includes features such as mechanical strength, safe controllability in a wide range of flight and operating conditions. To be certified, Class C2 systems must also have, among other things, a remote identification system and a reliable data link as well as a data interface for a geo-awareness system to comply with airspace limitations.

NavCert as an official Notified Body is allowed to certify unmanned aircraft systems for classification according to the requirements of the EU UAS regulation and under consideration of applicable standards like EN 4709-series. Hereby NavCert supports actively the CEN in the development the standards and chairs the EU coordination group of notified bodies for UAS under the Drone Regulation (EU) 2019/945.
